What Can Parents Do To Help Students Be Successful On State Assessments?

    1. Express to your child the importance of these assessments.

    2. Remember that your attitude can have an affect on your child's success or failure.

    3. Support them in their efforts.

    4. Make sure that they get enough sleep, not only during testing, but always, so they learn at their highest potential.

    5. See that they eat good breakfasts on the days of testing.

    6. Send healthy snacks and/or drinks to school with them.

    7. Encourage them to try their best on all tests.

    8. Offer rewards at home for good scores.

    9. Provide a positive experience at home in the mornings to ensure that your child is in a good mood for testing.

    10. Try to get up early on testing days to avoid being rushed - you want your child as relaxed as possible.
